It’s day three of your period. Again. You arrived at your fertility office early this morning for monitoring. Bloodwork has been drawn, you feel like a pin cushion. You’ve had another transvaginal ultrasound, and you’re cramping.

You leave the fertility center and head to work with your head held up because you have to go about your day. Uncomfortable doesn’t begin to describe it and we know it. Some of us experience it, some of us witness it, but we’re all pushing forward with you.

As a fertility nurse and patient educator, one of my goals has always been to make sure you are being heard. Amplifying your voice when needed, making sure you are seen. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. We’ll talk through the disappointment but I’ll always look forward to sharing your joy. I’ll share tell you this reminder as many times as needed… acknowledge the hurt, but hold onto the hope.
